Importance of the Blg

http://www.birdville.k12.tx.us/el_lessons/5th_Six_Weeks/3rd/Math/CPS%20MATH%20TAKS%20PRACTICE_1/Pre_Post%20Test%20and%20Objective%20Lessons/CPS_Databases/Image%20Library/Clip%20art%20library/Miscellaneous/Clocks/clock_11_55.jpg

As this year comes closer to the end, my blog posts do so. And since this is the last composition class to me in ABP, makes this post the closing of my blog. Now after realizing so, no one would have the ability to imagine my current emotions. Sadness mixed with happiness, and fear with interest. The time flies so fast in ABP in which one might feel puzzled about it. However, I think that the first experience in something, will always stick on people’s minds, thus, I suppose that this blog will never be forgot by me. And the fact that this blog account had improved my writing skills cannot be argued.

Honestly, I wasn't satisfied nor excited when my teacher first pronounced that each one is going to have a blog account, which leaded me to make a blog theme that was not really enjoyable to me, but after thinking positively, I had changed my blog theme to match something that I am interested in. By making a blog, I had to work hard in my essays and think of different ideas to write about. Starting up the essays directly after the classes; fright to forget something was mentioned during the class, choosing topics by my own, and checking my grammar in the English room, had been my strategy for each essay this course.

Future ABP or any college students, should have a blog accounts as well, because after an experience, I believe that it will improve them so fast along with raising their confidence in writing. It will not only make their essays more sophisticated, but will also make them more professional while responding to each other. Again, they will really take care of the subject, and will enjoy what they are writing about at the same time, since it would be from their choice, which will show their creativity.

Response to NPR: At Last, New York Fashion Week Brings ‘Good News For Real People’

I would say that clothes are similar to twins. Even though lots of the twins differ, most of them are identical. And those who are similar must vary in one way or another. They have the same appearance, but they might be different in their personalities, style, or habits. The same for the clothes; those clothes that have the same color, shape, length, might look the same from the first glance, but after taking a close long look at them, you would notice the difference, either because of their fabrics, qualities, cuts, or how comfortable they are. The fabrics of clothes are most like the personalities of the twins, you would not know the difference unless you had experience with them. Actually, these details are important in fashion field.

In an interview that happened between NPR's Renee Montagne and Deborah Needleman, editor in chief of T: The New York Times Style Magazine, mentioned that there would be a "good news to the real people"; Then obviously, she announced the designers' inspiration by the men's clothes and their connection of these clothes to the women's outfit in order to make them more comfortable and flexible; however, the new trending in fashion would mostly consist of cozy suits and trousers. I honestly do not agree with this, because they did not really think about being elegant, but oppositely, about being free and adaptable. I think that the designers did not put enough effort into this collection, since even the fabric looks too fluffy and loose, which makes these high-level brands at the same level of any other normal shop. This would undoubtedly annoy most of the female fashion lovers; because the suits are not for every lady, the designers could make some comfortable dresses instead of making suits and trousers that can be found everywhere. By doing so, clothes would be useful for the real people, as thMontagne mentioned, and would look chic in the same time. The brands should always be different; clothes chosen to be presented in fashion runways should not be ordinary, isn't this the reason of our excitement to watch the shows continuously? Isn't this what opens our imagination in discovering the difference between the latest and previous runway, and looking forward to the clothes finishing? Even though the relaxing normal outfits are significant to some people, high-qualified unusual dresses are important to the rest; since they know well enough, that beauty is painand one who wants to wear the crown, should bear the crown. Thus, in order to be pretty and fashionable, this type of people would predominantly withstand these heavy or tight uncomfortable dresses.

I must certainly agree with Needleman when she said "So I think if you're dealing with suiting, you're talking about quality men's suiting fabric, great cuts, quality craftsmanship — these things are much harder to knock off than something with a lot of frills and embellishment." As a person who had tried finding the "best" fabric before, I would admit that it is not an easy thing to deal with. The cloth-fabric shops had lots of fabric types, but most of them are not suitable for special occasions in which one wants to look tidy and classy. Fortunately, in my country, there are two chic shops which are Bokeh and Tash. Of course, most of the best ones are located in Italy, the country of fashion, and Lebanon, thus, it makes them rarely found in Qatar and some other countries. However, looking for a high-quality fabric is more important than a normal one with some decorations, since they would not ruin easily, and this makes the clothes stay with you for longer time period; moreover, they look more elegant, stylish, and chic.

Finally, fashion is not for comfort, fashion is to be different and memorable at the same time by having its own personality with detail and quality. Normal outfits like the suits and trousers could be sold in the brand shops, but they must not be in the runway since this is not their place. Fashion runway is a place where those most stylish and unexpected dresses are showed, those outfits that when a lady looks at, goes crazy to get, not a place containing regular clothes that are initially were made for men.

Is It Appealing or a Waste Of Time?

A blog is a discussion or informational site published on the World Wide Web and consisting of different posts typically displayed in reverse chronological order (from the most recent post to the oldest). Nowadays, the number of blogs is increasing, some have value, and others do not. Personally, I think that the blogs that have a specific theme mostly do have value and are better for the visitors, since the blogger would focus in one subject only, conversely, he will post meaningful ideas or news that are related to that theme. However, with a theme, the viewers would know what the blog is basically about before accessing it, and this might rise the number of views since those who are interested in the theme would continuously check the latest entries; thus, I think that my blog does have value, especially for those who are into fashion.

First, my blog is easy to navigate, so even those who are not very used to social networks but like to read and listen to fashion news, can simply find the content. For example, my previous posts are designed to be on the blog archive on the sidebar which allows the viewer to view all of these posts by date; besides, it is easy to add comments to my posts. It is neither complicated nor difficult to comprehend; therefore, it fits those who have poor English vocab. Not only that, but it also have a theme, so the viewers would already know what they will look for and read about, which is fashion and things related to it. This means that the topics are appealing and are related to them.

Second, it talks about the latest news of celebrities and their latest problems in their private/wide-ranging life, which means that it would not only attract those who are interested in fashion, but also the ones who are paying attention to the never ending interesting news of some celebrities and popular people in these fields. Moreover, my blog does not include the latest trends in fashion only, but it also talks about the area around fashion and the people that work there, which makes the content uncommon.

In the other hand, I admit that the theme might not be fascinating to some people, which gives a negative point to my blog; furthermore, I recognize that I must add new posts constantly and put in some links to other blogs that are related to mine or those that I likes, to improve my blog, and this will surely increase the number of views to it. In addition, the comments are rarely added by others, and this is another depressing point.

However, I believe that the easier the blog is to navigate, the better it would be for the viewers, since they have different ages and patients. For myself, I get bored while trying to navigate a hard-using blogs, so I end up closing them in most of the times. As a result, I designed mine to be as simple as possible; thus, the blogger should take care of this point for his blog visitors' sake. In addition, although the good blogs should contain a theme, but the more generic the theme is, the more contents the blogger will be able to add, the better the blog will be.

Response to "Lena Dunham Responds to the Vogue Haters"

In the spring of 2013, many fans of Vogue magazine responded negatively not to Lena Dunham’s news but to the fact of having her picture as the cover of Vogue. Lena Dunham is a filmmaker, writer, director, and actress known for her role in the HBO series Girls. However, in Jan 10, 2014, Dunham talked to the Slate France that she understood people’s anger and the controversy about having her on the cover of Vogue instead of the typical Vogue cover model, but not understanding the issue of having her pose on the cover. Even though it may not be Lena’s decision to be on the cover, she did ultimately agree to do so. Furthermore, she explained her happiness when Vogue workers changed her style and supported her.

In Slate website, a response to "Lena Dunham Responds to the Vogue haters", was written by Katy Waldman in Jan 17, 2014. The word 'haters' is meant to be the haters of Dunham's cover. Whatsoever, Waldman was against the idea of having Dunham’s pose on the cover for several reasons, summarized as; doing so means daring to squeeze the qualities that make Vogue woman’s special. And By going further, Waldman mentioned that she did not understand why everyone including Dunham actually cares about the clothes and fantasy.
I personally agree with Dunham when she mentioned in her interview with Slate that the fact of changing the cover model should not be a big deal, but in another hand, I exceedingly agree with her haters that it must not be her. In spite of the appropriate image of her in the cover, we all know who Dunham is, which will give little to the imagination of how bad the latest pattern of Vogue would be, right? Nonetheless, seeing her inappropriate pictures inside the article must be really annoying. Dunham said when talking to the Slate, “I feel like if the story reflects me and I happen to be wearing a beautiful Prada dress and surrounded by beautiful men and dogs.” Is mentioning “beautiful men” necessary or proper to the different ages of readers? However, we all know the answer.
I think that Dunham did not talk enough while showing her point of view to persuade her haters. And I do not get how exactly she did not understand why she received all of those rude responses from Vogue lovers. Honestly, the plan of having her in the cover of Vogue was a wrong decision according to the magazine fans' opinion. And, although respecting others should be what we go further for, but isn’t the person himself the one who imposes how respectful others should be toward him/her?

How to choose a bag worth investing in?

An interview had happen between me and a friend of mine, however, her name is Amna. She has good bags and taste in fashion. Moreover, she wants to continue her second stage in life as a fashion designer. This interview happened in Sunday morning at the ABP starbucks.

1.What type of bags that mostly worth investing in? (Clutch/ handbag/ cross bag/ shoulder bag/ minaudieri bag?)
Handbags, because they are usually spacious, and they come in handy for everyday use.

2. Is there a specific brand that you think it offers that type of bags in a perfect way?
Yes, Chanel, Hermes, and Christian Dior are my top favorite 3 brands that offer the best type of bags.

3. If so, what makes it perfect or special?
They are timeless bags; therefore they stay with you forever if you take care of them.

4. How would you decide either that bag worth investment or not?
In general, look for a bag that will withstand the passing of trends and continue to look amazing for years to come.

5. Is there certain things that make a bag worth investing? Like the type of the bag or extra accessories added to the bag, etc?
For sure, the bag type makes a huge difference, an impeccable bag made of natural crocodile or ostrich leather, or any another natural animal skin, is never the same as a bag that is made of a normal material or fabric.

6. Should the bag be bought from a popular brand so it would worth investing in? Or is a bag with a good shape is enough?
Of course, I think buying a bag from a popular brand is so important nowadays.

7. Did the bags that worth the investment include also the size and price of the bag, or is it only depend on the bag’s shape?
With no care to the size or price, I think that the bags that look attractive and an eye-catching are the best bags to buy, especially those limited and unique ones.

8. Should the bag be expensive or limited piece so it would worth the investment?
No, not all of the limited or expensive bags really worth buying.

9. What should the shopper really take care of before buying a bag?
It must have a good quality.

10. Why would a brand sometimes sell a bag that is made of natural leather, and another bag, with the same shape and design, that is made of another normal material?
A designer should think of all the costumers, that is why he makes a bag with different leathers or materials so there is something available for everyone’s taste.

Attractive, timelessness, and high-quality handbags are the bags that really worth investing in. And as the interviewee mentioned, the brand name is important, not because of its name but for its quality, a popular brand will never be popular if it wasn't fancy, or if the quality and design of the sellers were cheap. But in spite of that, I think that the bag’s shape is even more important to look for. Buying a bag because of the brand name is just foolery! Nevertheless, the buyer must stay a moment and think whether he really, really loved that bag or not. If he is going to pay for something, it must be something that he will love for a long time.

Fashion Area's Reflection in Private Life

People who are into fashion normally care about the way they look and their healthy life. But those who are passionate about it can get a little intense. Dara-Lynn Weiss, a writer in Vogue Magazine, has put her ‘obese’ 7-year-old daughter on a diet. She has posted on vogue an article about her daughter who was suffering from obesity. She also mentioned how she forced her child to undergo this harsh diet. This leaves little to the imagination about the little girl's feelings towards her mother. Her thoughts must have been conflicted between whether her mother was acting for her own sake and health or just for the sake of making her another plastic model.

Among the excuses and reasons she gave for forcing her overweighed child on the diet, I disagree with her mostly about her claim that the diet was better for her daughter’s health. Losing weight at this early age would affect her health in many ways. She is clearly ignorant to the negative effects of having her child on an extreme diet at a young age. By doing so, her daughter could get high blood pressure, diabetes, high cholesterol, and it will stop her growth. Moreover, publishing this experience proudly really got on my nerves.

In her article, Weiss states “I dramatically grabbed the drink out of my daughter's hands, poured it into the garbage, and stormed out.” Rough, isn't it? She also said, "And there have been many awkward moments at parties, when Bea has wanted to eat, say, both cookies and cake, and I've engaged in a heated public discussion about why she can't." (Vogue April issue 2012, 123). Another time, she broke her daughter's heart by dealing with her in such a violent and brutal way. And as if it wasn’t enough to humiliate her daughter alone with the secrecy of their house, she lectured her about her food in public.

In addition, Weiss wrote in the article about the moment when she asked her daughter whether she was happy at the moment with what she has gone through and about the result, she honestly answered ""Just because it's in the past," she says, "doesn't mean it didn't happen.""(April issue of Vogue 2012, 123). When the period of dieting ended, despite the mother's feeling of pride at the end result, her daughter was not as happy or proud as Weiss expected. From the daughter's answer, it is obvious that Weiss was taking out her own obsession of food on her daughter without thinking about her feelings.

Forcing people to do things they don't want to do, can give deep, negative and psychological repercussions in spite of how we see them from the outside. This is what Weiss had done to her daughter. Letting her child go through that entire struggle is a nasty behaviour coming from a mom. Most of her readers realised the extent of her naivety after finding out about this. She could have let her daughter make a habit out of some daily exercises instead of dieting. That would raise Weiss in her daughter's eyes as a mother. Also, her goal behind the daily exercises would be clear, that it is for her daughter's sake. Her goal behind the diet was ambiguous, and whether or not it was out of Weiss's pure selfishness, is not clear.
