Response to "Lena Dunham Responds to the Vogue Haters"

In the spring of 2013, many fans of Vogue magazine responded negatively not to Lena Dunham’s news but to the fact of having her picture as the cover of Vogue. Lena Dunham is a filmmaker, writer, director, and actress known for her role in the HBO series Girls. However, in Jan 10, 2014, Dunham talked to the Slate France that she understood people’s anger and the controversy about having her on the cover of Vogue instead of the typical Vogue cover model, but not understanding the issue of having her pose on the cover. Even though it may not be Lena’s decision to be on the cover, she did ultimately agree to do so. Furthermore, she explained her happiness when Vogue workers changed her style and supported her.

In Slate website, a response to "Lena Dunham Responds to the Vogue haters", was written by Katy Waldman in Jan 17, 2014. The word 'haters' is meant to be the haters of Dunham's cover. Whatsoever, Waldman was against the idea of having Dunham’s pose on the cover for several reasons, summarized as; doing so means daring to squeeze the qualities that make Vogue woman’s special. And By going further, Waldman mentioned that she did not understand why everyone including Dunham actually cares about the clothes and fantasy.
I personally agree with Dunham when she mentioned in her interview with Slate that the fact of changing the cover model should not be a big deal, but in another hand, I exceedingly agree with her haters that it must not be her. In spite of the appropriate image of her in the cover, we all know who Dunham is, which will give little to the imagination of how bad the latest pattern of Vogue would be, right? Nonetheless, seeing her inappropriate pictures inside the article must be really annoying. Dunham said when talking to the Slate, “I feel like if the story reflects me and I happen to be wearing a beautiful Prada dress and surrounded by beautiful men and dogs.” Is mentioning “beautiful men” necessary or proper to the different ages of readers? However, we all know the answer.
I think that Dunham did not talk enough while showing her point of view to persuade her haters. And I do not get how exactly she did not understand why she received all of those rude responses from Vogue lovers. Honestly, the plan of having her in the cover of Vogue was a wrong decision according to the magazine fans' opinion. And, although respecting others should be what we go further for, but isn’t the person himself the one who imposes how respectful others should be toward him/her?

How to choose a bag worth investing in?

An interview had happen between me and a friend of mine, however, her name is Amna. She has good bags and taste in fashion. Moreover, she wants to continue her second stage in life as a fashion designer. This interview happened in Sunday morning at the ABP starbucks.

1.What type of bags that mostly worth investing in? (Clutch/ handbag/ cross bag/ shoulder bag/ minaudieri bag?)
Handbags, because they are usually spacious, and they come in handy for everyday use.

2. Is there a specific brand that you think it offers that type of bags in a perfect way?
Yes, Chanel, Hermes, and Christian Dior are my top favorite 3 brands that offer the best type of bags.

3. If so, what makes it perfect or special?
They are timeless bags; therefore they stay with you forever if you take care of them.

4. How would you decide either that bag worth investment or not?
In general, look for a bag that will withstand the passing of trends and continue to look amazing for years to come.

5. Is there certain things that make a bag worth investing? Like the type of the bag or extra accessories added to the bag, etc?
For sure, the bag type makes a huge difference, an impeccable bag made of natural crocodile or ostrich leather, or any another natural animal skin, is never the same as a bag that is made of a normal material or fabric.

6. Should the bag be bought from a popular brand so it would worth investing in? Or is a bag with a good shape is enough?
Of course, I think buying a bag from a popular brand is so important nowadays.

7. Did the bags that worth the investment include also the size and price of the bag, or is it only depend on the bag’s shape?
With no care to the size or price, I think that the bags that look attractive and an eye-catching are the best bags to buy, especially those limited and unique ones.

8. Should the bag be expensive or limited piece so it would worth the investment?
No, not all of the limited or expensive bags really worth buying.

9. What should the shopper really take care of before buying a bag?
It must have a good quality.

10. Why would a brand sometimes sell a bag that is made of natural leather, and another bag, with the same shape and design, that is made of another normal material?
A designer should think of all the costumers, that is why he makes a bag with different leathers or materials so there is something available for everyone’s taste.

Attractive, timelessness, and high-quality handbags are the bags that really worth investing in. And as the interviewee mentioned, the brand name is important, not because of its name but for its quality, a popular brand will never be popular if it wasn't fancy, or if the quality and design of the sellers were cheap. But in spite of that, I think that the bag’s shape is even more important to look for. Buying a bag because of the brand name is just foolery! Nevertheless, the buyer must stay a moment and think whether he really, really loved that bag or not. If he is going to pay for something, it must be something that he will love for a long time.
